DoseSentry ("the App") is a local-first medication and schedule management app, operated by Embrace Ecom LLC. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data — and because DoseSentry is built to need very little, this policy stays short and specific rather than vague.
Your medication schedule, supplement list, journal entries, vitals, and adherence logs are stored locally on your device, in the app's own local database. DoseSentry does not operate a server that stores, receives, or has access to this information. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it if your device is lost — because we never had it.
A small amount of non-health data is handled by services that support the app's basic operation:
| Service | Purpose | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Processing your subscription | Purchase receipt information |
| Expo Updates | Delivering app updates and bug fixes without a full App Store update | Update-channel and build information — never the contents of your schedule or logs |
| Expo crash reporting | Helping us identify and fix app crashes | Technical crash/error data — never the contents of your medication schedule, journal, or logs |
None of these services receive your medication schedule, journal entries, vitals, or adherence history under any circumstance. If you choose to back up to your own cloud storage (see Backups below), that's a separate, user-initiated data flow to your own account — not something DoseSentry operates or has access to.
DoseSentry is built on Apple's AlarmKit, the same system Apple's own Clock app uses. Apple's documentation states these alarms fire every time they're properly armed — including breaking through Do Not Disturb, Focus modes, and the silent switch. This is a native operating-system feature — no data is transmitted to us when an alarm fires.
DoseSentry lets you generate a passcode-secured QR code containing schedule, medication, and log data, for transferring to another device — for example, from a caregiver to the person they care for. To send, you generate the QR inside the app and share the image yourself through whichever messaging or email app you choose; DoseSentry does not upload or relay the QR at any point. To receive, you scan the QR with the in-app camera and enter the passcode, and DoseSentry reassembles the data for use in the Plan module. QR codes do not carry reports.
Reports are built and viewable inside the app, and can be downloaded or emailed as a PDF. DoseSentry does not host a server that stores or relays report contents — a report only leaves your device if you choose to download or email it yourself.
Automatic and manual backups can be configured to save either locally to your device or to your own cloud storage (on iOS, this means Apple's iCloud). Either way, the backup is yours — DoseSentry does not operate a server that stores or has access to your backups, regardless of which storage location you choose.
You can deactivate a schedule at any time, which stops it from running without removing its history. Deleting a schedule is a separate, second step after deactivation, and removes all data associated with that schedule permanently — this isn't reversible, so it isn't recommended if you want to preserve full log history. Every timeline transaction (both scheduled completions and ad hoc entries) is saved as part of your history until a schedule is deleted. You can also erase everything at once using the Delete All Data option in the app's Data settings, or by removing the app from your device entirely.
If you contact us through the support form on our website, we receive whatever name, email address, and message you choose to enter there. This is separate from the app itself and is not linked to any data stored on your device.
DoseSentry is an organizational tool. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It does not contain a drug interaction database and does not provide medical descriptions, dosing guidance, or clinical information of any kind. It does not replace professional medical advice — always consult a licensed healthcare provider before changing your medication routine or schedule. DoseSentry is not intended for use in a medical emergency; contact your local emergency services directly if you need immediate help.
The Caregiver Bundle is intended for adult use only, on both the caregiver's and the patient's side.
